About Me

Hello and welcome,

My name is Bernice and I am a Person-Centred Counsellor who is an accredited and registered member of the BACP.

In 2010, I attended the course ‘An Introduction to Counselling’ at the Redbridge Institute of Adult Education. This course ran alongside training I was receiving  to be  a telephone volunteer for a drugs helpline;  I worked for Drugsline for two years where I took calls from people who took drugs as well as concerned relatives and friends.

I went on to successfully complete the Certificate in Counselling Skills and the Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling at the City Lit in Covent Garden.

In 2018, I attended a course to train in couples counselling with the Counselling Works in Milton Keynes; they specialise in Person-centred training.

I am currently working for a charity who offers low cost counselling to adults from eighteen years old; I do this alongside my private practice.

Prior to this, I have worked with people who were alcohol dependent or in recovery, female survivors of domestic abuse, general and bereavement counselling in many secondary schools.

The common thread for me in my private and professional life has been my love and interest in people. My natural way of being, together with my life’s experiences enables me to work with warmth, care and compassion.
